Who writes Past Localhost and why the guide exists.

Douglas Matoso

Senior Frontend Engineer

I’m Douglas Matoso, a frontend engineer with more than 15 years of building web applications, mostly with React, TypeScript and Node.js.

I’ve seen code that works on a laptop break in production many times, usually for reasons nobody had written down: a job that runs twice, or a migration that locks a table in the middle of the day.

What you need to avoid those failures already exists, spread across books, postmortems, documentation and other people’s experience. Past Localhost collects it in short lessons for people who can already write code and want to know what happens after they ship.

My site is matoso.dev, and I’m on GitHub and LinkedIn. If you find a mistake or have a suggestion, reach me through any of them.
